Can't agree more with this... the majority of recruitment sectors are faced with a shortage of talent. With the fierce competition for active candidates, recruiters can't afford not to mine the passive candidates. And who doesn't like to be approached by a recruiter with an opportunity? As long as it's relevant and not a daily occurrence of course.
Clever use of data is key - and having the tools to do this is the first step.
With a dearth in candidates – especially active candidates or candidates with industry-specific skillsets – it can feel like it’s time to put your head in your hands. However, your ATS might hold the key to all of your recruitment woes. By mining this system for candidate gold, you might find a qualified match you’d completely forgotten about. Plus, candidates are way more likely to ‘warm-up’ to a position if they’re approached directly by a you, a recruiter – even if they’re not looking for a job. A recent LinkedIn survey found that 56% of candidates are open to new job opportunities if they’re approached by a hiring manager; a further 63% are flattered if a recruiter gets in touch.
