Q: As I was sat in traffic this morning, what was I surprised to hear? 

A: A prime-time radio advert for the GDPR!  

Aimed at what the ICO calls "micro-businesses" (ie 10 or fewer staff) I think it very successfully highlighted that the rules apply to all businesses. It's about time we saw this level of awareness campaign.... seeing it's just a little over 2 months until it comes into enforcement!

Of course the GDPR are even more important for recruitment businesses. Even 'micro' recruitment business (of which there are thousands in the UK) can hold the data of tens of thousands of individuals. 

Hopefully those recruitment company owners who are still unaware of the GDPR listen to the radio in the mornings too! 

And hopefully their CRM/ATS software providers have already given them the tools they need to manage their compliance efficiently...
